Not only in my own practice, but in my everyday, i use writing as a means to reflect and process my struggles with Generalised Anxiety Disorder which causes Formication, a sensation that feels like bugs are on my skin.
I find writing a way to reflect on the experience after an episode and try to use it as a grounding distraction during an episode to keep me from wanting to scratch my skin making it worse.
I like writing poetry and intend to share it on the website at some point in the future, i wanted to ask if anyone does anything similar or uses writing in another way to ground themselves?
